It all started for Microfiche Records in 2010 with the 1994 debut release from Outrageous Cherry. It's a jangly indie pop masterpiece that Jay grew up listening to on CD. In some ways you could say that Microfiche was started so that this record could finally get pressed to vinyl.
300 copies were pressed on this swirly white marble vinyl. The first 100 pressed had labels that had hand cut sections on them. They were cut so that the color of the vinyl could be seen on the screen of the microfiche reader in our logo.
Outrageous Cherry still tours and still makes great records. There are still more that somehow haven't come out on vinyl so don't be surprised if you see more OC in the MFR Catalog one day.
